Kyoukan (drillmaster?) No name. He is just called "Teacher" or "(Drill)master" Although his identify is also unknown, he is a professional-- he is supposed to play a role to take the virus-weapon from lab scientist, Yaguchi. Because of the earthquake, the weapon is spread out accidentally. Then, an epidemic of the disease start. After that, he have lived with Yaguchi until he saves Tetsu's life and trains him. |

Dr.Yaguchi(Family name) One of the culprit for the n epidemic of the disease. He had studied research and development of chemical and biological weapon in Atsugi Institute of Physical and Chemical Research. He is going to give the weapon he made to an agent(Kyokan) when the 1st earthquake occur. He gets the agent as a protector and escapes.( He can't go back the laboratory anymore) Afterward, he teaches his knowledge to Tetsu. |

Chibi One of the children group Tetsu leads. He is the youngest boy of the group, so they call him "Chibi". Shortly, little baby--in English. It isn't given name. He doesn't remember his real name and his family-- because of the shock of the disaster. So they gave him a nickname. |

Uｎn-no Keiko(Hotarubi) She was an Ground Self-Defense Official on the career track. After the earthquake, she join the imperial army as an divisional commander . She's helped and work for Tetsu as his right hand since he is 17 years old. At the same time, she questions his purpose and worries. Person of serious mold. Because her design is similar to Kaoru, sometimes it is difficult to identify them when Kaoru colored her hair black. It's my fault, obviously... *_* Hotarubi comes from my favorite character. (Title ;Ninjya-Bugeicho by Sanpei Shirato) Hotaru-bi means light of firefly, "Hotarubi" is nickname for "Keiko". Her family name "Umino"(Sea+plane) comes from "Umi-Hotaru"(It's a marine creature) |

Saotome Naoya Ex-"hopeless" Ground Self-Defense Official (his friend says). Flip, smooth-talker, manizing and playful.... He gets nothing in serious, and he is described "Everything is just a game for him". But he has another face, and he's never opened it. If he wants, he can get a important position of several groups, but he belongs to nowhere and idles away. Until he meets Kaoru... Saotome: Not common very much, but ordinary Japanese family name. It has meaning of "Young girl who plants rice "or "virgin". ("Sa"= early, "Otome"= Virgin) One of my friend has this name, and he is called "Otome" by friends. I think it's funny, so I got the name for my character. At first, he didn't have given name. One day, my friend told me that his character resembled in mine, and she insisted I should give him the name something like mine. So I did. Because I really respect her, I thought if she said so... Although I don't think I'm manizing.*LOL* Anyway, it's true he is my favorite and I put many "my thoughts" into him. |

Okami (proprietress) She is a "gray eminence (?) " of a town. Noboday knows her name, Okami is comes from her job-position. She looks after Kaoru for one year since her 13 years old. After Kaoru leaves her, she still helps and beholds her from behind. But she doesn't agree with the plan Kaoru has. She wants her to have a ordinary and happy life as a woman. She wish that Kaoru will get married to a Mr. Right , have babies-- something like that. |

Gen 11-12 years old boy. He is a leader of homeless children they are living around Shibuya. (Center of Tokyo, and outside of the empire ) When he is going to be killed by a member of armed gang called "Isshiki-kai"(Isshiki-family), Tetsu kills the guy to save his life. Then, he and his fellows come to work for Tetsu and they are caught up in his fight . Gen gets to hate Tetsu because it's not his will. |

Isshiki（F) The boss of armed gang called "Isshiki-kai"(Isshiki-family). He is called "Oyaji"(big buddy) by his men. He admits Tetsu's talent, and backs him up to be against the empire . |

Yoko The girl Isshiki gives to Tetsu as a "servant woman". She waits on Tetsu hand and foot. Before that, she worked for a man whom Tetsu killed to save Gen's life. She get the fact from Makoto and she is plotting to kill him. Basically the name Yoko is written like this  .(Can you see the difference?) The first character means Sun. (Ko is ending of female name). But in this case, the character means "burn", (or-- more like blaze?) It's not so good meaning, gives you a negative impression. |

Morita Yasuhiko He is a part of the emperor administration, 4th councilor. He is a grandson of the "mysterious" emperor who has never show himself in public. He is also Kaoru's immediate boss (He employs Kaoru in personal). |

Maria One of the homeless children with Gen. She was a Christian, but she forsakes a her faith during tough life after the earthquakes. She loves and respects Tetsu deeply because he gave her decent and untroubled living. Maria: Mari=Truth, A=second, sub. Of course it comes from "Virgin Mary" |
